The zombie apocalypse is upon us

I'm a big fan of zombie related stuff. I have a number of zombie video games, zombie survival books and zombie fiction.

In all my years of zombie fandom, I never thought the Z-pocalypse would come true but this disturbing chain of events leading to this horrific story of a man eating another man's face leads me to believe that something is afoot.

I was going to directly embed the link on here but I decided not to since its a bit disturbing and gory.

Transition time

So I've started this new role and it's the first time that I'm supervising people where I don't fully know the nitty gritty of what my direct reports do.

When I worked at Deloitte the transition process was very easy. I did Task A for the first year and Task B for the second year and in the third year supervised the 1st year and 2nd year staff who were now the ones doing Task A and Task B. This made it so that I fully know what had to be done and what I needed to look out for when it comes to reviewing reports

In my new role I get what's going on from a conceptual basis but I'm not 100 percent sure if things are truly correct. I think this is the first time in my life where I really had to let go and allow my team to deal with the day to day dealings and concentrate on the bigger picture.

It really surprises me how uncomfortable it feels to work on an 80/20 basis. Trying to focus on just the key areas and not relying on a fully detailed knowledge of operations is kinda like going to school everyday with a potentially faulty pant button You just never know when that button fails and you've just flashed the entire school.

I guess whether it's at work or on the school grounds all I can really do is flash a smile, grit my teeth and move on with my life. Let the people enjoy the show; a bit of laughter and gossip doesn't hurt anyone. Oh and all this as I celebrate one year with the company. Here's to another interesting year ahead.
